UAE Labor Card

In the UAE, a labor card indicates to the workplace of an employee and other valid criteria, including candidate’s age between 18-60 years, profession or academic qualifications, a valid passport, and a residency visa. Make sure that you get this card after medical clearance within 60 days from the date of arrival in the country. In the case of any inconsistency, the employer will have to pay the incurred delay penalties.

Documents required for labour card in UAE:

  • 3 copies of employment contract
  • A copy of entry visa
  • A copy of the establishment’s valid license
  • Employees’ photograph
  • Signature card copy
  • Valid health certificate of employees

Note that a labor card is issued for 2 years or 3 years for government employees and needed to be renewed within 50 days from the date of expiry with the consent of the employer and the employee. Moreover, the employment contract, labor card, and other fines should be paid by the employer within the given period.

Labour card conditions:

For a violation-free record, it is mandatory for the employer not to have any expired labor cards or licenses. Moreover, an employee’s salary should be proportional to his/her profession. All the employer’s establishments need to function as per the ministry’s procedures.
