Medical Test Process For UAE Residence Permit

As per UAE residence visa application process, all temporary or permanent residents from other countries in the UAE have to go for a medical test at a government medical facility. While applying for visas and for visa renewals concerning the medical fitness law, expatriate workers will have to undergo various medical tests, including blood test, chest x-ray, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, leprosy, pregnancy test, syphilis, and tuberculosis.

The prime purpose of these tests is to ensure a healthy living environment and protection against infectious diseases. For all categories of workers, any transmissible disease is confirmed with the blood test and tuberculosis (TB) with an x-ray of the chest area. Following are some documents needed for having a visa:

  • Health card receipt or number.
  • Letter from typing office in Arabic.
  • Two passport-size photographs with test fee.
  • Your original passport.

Note: All who are found positive may have to go through a combination of treatment, quarantine, or deportation. All new and renewal visa applicants will face immediate deportation on finding HIV/AIDS positive.
