If you are one of those fanatics who jumps at the sound of tripping music, raw art, design and latest fashion trends, then we have got some exciting news for you. The much awaited Sole DXB fest is ready to rock Dubai again this December.

The unique global platform aimed at blending the hottest trends in footwear, music and street art culture worldwide would be organized for three days from December 7 to December 9, 2017 at Dubai Design District.

The inception of Sole

Sole was conceived in September 2010 in the Middle East as an opportunity for people in the field of art, fashion and design from across the world to come forward, communicate and collaborate. With the object of promoting innovation in product designing and creativity in commodity branding and marketing, it is stage for igniting growth and inspiration in fashion and alternative culture.

Music at Sole

Since the platform encourages street culture and local raw art, undoubtedly music becomes its indispensable part. Every year popular and talented artists come together to celebrate the true essence of music. Last year’s performers included Skepta, Dam-Funk, DJ Clark Kent and Stretch Armstrong. They are not only highly acclaimed but also regarded as the greatest champions of funk generation.

The Fashion Scene

Sole DXB not only brings the most prominent international designers and credible brands under one roof, but also the newest and most funky trends to town. It is especially a delight for all the sneaker lovers out there. One can find numerous pop-up shops that present a chance to trainers and amateurs to get a hands-on experience of designing and painting footwear. From smaller local brands to more established ones like Nike, Adidas and others, you can find all participating together here.

Interactive Sessions with the Legends

One of the most exciting streaks about this event is its panel and open discussion sessions. The previous edition of the event gave visitors an opportunity to interact with the legendary Henry Chalfant and Carlos Mare with regards to the release of the movie Style Wars – as it showcases some reflections of the street culture and art of America in the 1980’s.

The hip-hop documentary not only allows people to gain better understanding of the concept of cross-sectional street culture but also have an insight into upcoming trends and tastes of music, fashion and design.

Line up of events this year

The festival kicks off on December 7 with a film screening free for public at 6.30pm followed by an opening night party 9.30pm onwards. December 8 and 9 are dedicated for music, art and fashion related activities at Dubai Design District from 12pm to 10pm.

Though the exact schedule for the festival is yet to go public, one can expect some of the coolest activities at this fabulously energized event. Don’t forget the dates to be a part of this magnanimous celebration of unusual, quirky and exciting street culture.
